TROOP 1158 ASHBURN

Looking for a troop? Want to be a part of an exciting active scout led troop? Troop 1158B (Boys) and 1158G (Girls) are a great place to have a scouting adventure!!

Founded in 1991, Troop 1158 is an active presence in the Ashburn, VA community.  Over 100 scouts have earned Eagle Rank and we are an active troop with monthly outdoor events that include hiking, backpacking, canoeing, white-water rafting, climbing and skiing.  Each summer we offer a high adventure opportunity such  as Philmont, Northern Tier, Sea Base, and National/World Jamborees.

Troop 1158 is chartered by Dulles International Airport Rotary Club.

Our troop meets on Tuesday nights at 7:30 pm at Ashburn Presbyterian Church, 20962 Ashburn Road.

The last Tuesday of the month is the Patrol Leaders' Council (PLC) meeting where the elected scout leaders meet to plan events and outings.

Scoutmaster Vision: "Support a scout led troop that embraces the outdoor experience"

  • Develop an effective Patrol Leader's Council (PLC)
  • Have the Scouts through the PLC set the program for the troop with support and guidance from the Scoutmaster
  • The PLC will build advancement opportunities into their annual plan
  • Train Scouts in the leadership positions
  • Vary the outdoor experiences by three events per year
  • Develop a trained adult staff to support the troop
