April 2010 Minutes : PLC Meeting held on Tuesday April 7, 2010

Patrol Names:  Eagles, Ferrets, T-birds, Calvary (former Geckos), Bears (nickname is Op-4) (Venture), Roadrunners (new scouts)

Ferrets:  “Doing well … better seating needed”; received patches
Eagles: “Working on Rank Advancements”
T-birds: had and will have a patrol meeting; planning patrol campout; have yell and design for flag
Calvary: did a lot of rank advancements, did closing
Roadrunners: all have Scout rank
Venture: not camping with rest of camp this weekend; patrol campout next week
Backpacking campout this weekend
Lawn mowing: Weekly assignment will go to same patrol that will do opening.
Patrol Assignments (4/13):
Opening/Lawnmowing:  Ferrets
Game:  Calvary
Instruction:  T-birds
Closing: Eagles
Ventures have EVERYTHING on the 20th!  EVERYTHING!  Including LAWNMOWING!

OA Elections: Mr. Thiede will give results at CoH
Game/Patrol Meetings:  split into two blocks – half of the patrols will do game, half will do patrol meeting.  The two groups will alternate.  We will try this for about a month.
New merit badges: Space Exploration, Weather, Reading, Cycling
Cycling merit badge records can carry over from year to year:  need to do warm up 10-mile rides before 50-mile final
Instructions for April and May:
April theme: Camping
     April 13th (T-birds): setting up/ packing a campsite
     April 20th (Ventures): setting up/packing a tent
     April 27th (Calvary): preparing/packing for a campout
Hiking campout next weekend
Did a Leadership Training Course
One more scout may be able to attend West Point
Spring/Goshen Camporee: Max and Ross helping Mr. Thiede to make a program
Colin Chin and Andrew Bailey are patrol leaders for the Hiking Campout

Need a Dinner, Breakfast, AND lunch
